About this Role
Quanta Power Solutions is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer III to support the design and execution of EPC power generation, renewable energy, battery energy storage system (BESS), substation, transmission, and industrial infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for developing civil engineering designs, preparing construction packages, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient, and constructible solutions.
The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in site development, grading, drainage, foundations, and utility design within EPC or industrial environments and will be capable of independently executing engineering assignments while supporting project delivery from concept through construction.
What You'll Do
Engineering Design & Analysis
  • Develop civil engineering designs for power generation facilities, substations, transmission infrastructure, renewable energy projects, and industrial facilities.
  • Prepare estimate-level designs, engineering studies, and material quantity take-offs.
  • Design and develop:
  • Site grading plans
  • Stormwater management systems
  • Drainage systems
  • Erosion and sediment control plans
  • Roadways and access routes
  • Underground utility systems
  • Equipment foundations
  • Structural slabs and support systems
  • Perform engineering calculations related to:
  • Earthwork quantities
  • Stormwater runoff
  • Drainage system sizing
  • Foundation loading
  • Retaining structures
  • Site development requirements
  • Support hydrology and hydraulic studies for project sites.

Project Execution
  • Support projects through conceptual design, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Prepare engineering scopes, technical specifications, reports, and construction packages.
  • Coordinate civil engineering activities with structural, mechanical, electrical, process, and project management teams.
  • Participate in project planning, scheduling, and design reviews.
  • Identify and communicate design changes, scope modifications, and project risks.

Construction & Field Support
  • Provide engineering support during construction, startup, and commissioning activities.
  • Conduct field investigations, site assessments, and constructability reviews.
  • Respond to contractor Requests for Information (RFIs) and support field issue resolution.
  • Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and construction documentation.
  • Support site visits for verification of existing conditions and project progress.

Permitting & Compliance
  • Support environmental permitting and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and environmental consultants as required.
  • Assist with development of stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP) and permit documentation.

Quality & Continuous Improvement
  • Perform quality reviews of engineering deliverables.
  • Support development and implementation of engineering standards and best practices.
  • Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to travel periodically for site visits, field verification, and project activities.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or actively pursuing licensure.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant civil engineering experience.
