Familiarity with industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and structural analysis tools is highly beneficial. Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills help EITs collaborate effectively and manage project documentation. These competencies are critical for accurate project design, regulatory compliance, and successful progression to licensed professional engineer status.

As a Civil Engineer In Training (EIT), you will typically support licensed engineers on a range of projects such as roadway design, site development, structural analysis, or water resources management. Your daily tasks may include preparing engineering drawings, conducting field inspections, assisting with project estimates, and performing calculations under supervision.
