As a Heavy Civil Construction Project Manager, you will oversee project execution from planning through completion, managing schedules, costs, subcontractors, vendors, and client relationships to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.
What You Will Do
- Develop project execution plans to complete projects within budget and schedule requirements
- Create and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software
- Manage subcontractors, vendors, project teams, and overall project progression
- Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors and subcontractors to support project goals
- Review, submit, and track RFIs, submittals, and construction delays
- Manage monthly quantity billing, cost reporting, and project documentation
- Prepare and negotiate change orders while protecting project profitability
- Adjust schedules and project plans to address unforeseen delays and maintain completion timelines
- Provide cost-saving solutions and resolve project challenges with internal teams and clients
- Report project costs, safety concerns, delays, and key issues to leadership
What You Bring
- 3+ years of Project Manager experience in construction, or equivalent industry experience
- Experience managing heavy civil, highway, road, bridge, utility, or site development projects
- Ability to manage both small and large-scale construction projects
- Strong knowledge of estimating, scheduling, budgeting, cost control, field supervision, and financial reporting
- Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, and client relationships
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Ability to train team members and ensure quality standards are maintained
- Proficiency with construction management software; Primavera P6 experience preferred
- Four-year degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
