Classification: Non-Exempt.
Position Type: Full-Time and Part-Time.
This job description is designed to outline the primary duties, qualifications, and job scope for this particular position, but does not limit the employee or Hemline to only the work identified herein. Job Description:
Summary:
At Hemline, the Sales Associate is an integral member of the Retail department. This role focuses on enhancing the in-store customer experience through expert product knowledge, maintaining store presentation, and cultivating customer loyalty. Collaborative teamwork with fellow associates ensures a cohesive and efficient environment. Proficiency in Shopify is vital, and all activities are undertaken with guidance from the Store Manager. The Sales Associate embodies Hemline's core values and commitment to customer-centric operations.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate initiative and a sense of urgency in preparing the selling floor for opening each day.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, offering personalized assistance, product knowledge, and resolving inquiries to ensure an unparalleled shopping experience.
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards by changing apparel on mannequins in accordance with established merchandising and visual guidelines.
  • Educate and inform fellow associates about merchandise standards, contributing to a knowledgeable and high-performing team.
  • Cultivate enduring relationships with customers, fostering loyalty and repeat business.
  • Set, measure, and exceed customer service objectives, including but not limited to customer retention, churn rate, renewals, and win-backs.
  • Go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction and happiness, embodying a customer-centric ethos.
  • Inspire customers with an aspirational approach, reflecting our brand culture and values.
  • Organize and maintain inventory on the sales floor, ensuring the store's cleanliness, presentation, and aesthetic appeal throughout the day, with heightened attention before store closing.
  • Outstanding customer service, showcasing empathy, active listening, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking skills.

Competencies:
  • Proficiency in Shopify, enabling efficient navigation and use of the platform.
  • Familiarity with user functionality on various devices, such as desktops, mobiles, and tablets, with additional Shopify knowledge considered a plus.
  • Outstanding customer service skills, showcasing empathy, active listening, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capable of merchandise carry-out and loading, ensuring a seamless and safe shopping experience for customers.
  • Strong support for retail customers, assisting in inquiries, purchases, and after-sales support.
  • Effective selling skills, using product knowledge and interpersonal abilities to drive sales.
  • Proficient in wrapping and bagging merchandise securely and attractively.

Required Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment:
  • The role primarily takes place in a retail store environment, with occasional interactions required in office settings.

Physical Demands:
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • May be required to lift and/or move objects of moderate weight.

Work Hours:
Regular working hours are from 9:45 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, 10:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, with flexibility to accommodate the dynamic nature of the retail environment.
