Job description

Position Summary

The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, testing, calibrating, and packaging products to meet quality and customer specifications. This role requires attention to detail, a strong commitment to safety, and the flexibility to support warehouse operations as needed to meet production and delivery schedules. A commitment to continuous improvement is also essential. Compensation for this position is $23-28 per hour based on experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble fabricated components, wiring, and subassemblies into finished products.
  • Calibrate, test, and inspect products to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Use hand tools and follow established assembly procedures and work instructions.
  • Receive, pull, and cycle count inventory as assigned.
  • Package finished products according to customer orders and department standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Support warehouse operations during periods of lower assembly demand.
  • Meet production and delivery deadlines, including overtime when required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Safety Requirements

This is a safety-sensitive position.

  • Safely operate powered industrial equipment, when authorized.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly and perform frequent bending, twisting, climbing, and standing.
  • Follow all Granite City Electric health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Immediately report accidents, incidents, and unsafe conditions.
  • Promote a safe working environment for yourself and your coworkers.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous work experience in assembly or the electrical or related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, repetitive production environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet customer delivery commitments.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
