Our citrus can be found in all channels of distribution, with our consumer brands most visible in the produce department of grocery stores across the globe under our flagship consumer brands, Wonderful Halos Mandarins, Wonderful Seedless Lemons, and Wonderful Sweet Scarletts Texas Red Grapefruit.

Job Description

Overview:

Primarily working on the road this role is expected to maintain, repair and overhaul farm equipment and vehicles such as, tractors, trucks, forklifts, brush shredders, spray equipment, and other mechanically, electrically or motor driven equipment on farms and in farm shops. Examine equipment for defects and dismantle defective equipment using hand tools. Repairs or replaces defective units using hand and power tools.

Here's what you'll do:

  • Perform all tasks in a safe manner. Maintains shop and equipment in good safe efficient conditions, with special care to critical equipment.
  • Ensures that all farm machinery is serviced and maintained on a routine schedule and kept in good operational order.
  • Inspects, tests, adjusts, and repairs as needed, all equipment and rolling stock on a regular basis, as required by management.
  • Maintains service and repair records.
  • Keeps the shop Supervisor informed of equipment conditions, upcoming maintenance schedules, and other pertinent equipment information.
  • Maintaining and servicing company vehicles
  • Tool accountability
  • Up to 75% of the work time will be performed in road service
  • All other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications

Here's what you'll bring to the table:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered equipment, heavy equipment, trucks, or similar machinery. Technical training, vocational education, or equivalent work experience may be considered. Industry certifications (such as ASE, OEM certifications, or equivalent technical credentials) preferred.
  • Must have basic fabrication and stick welding skills necessary for standard repair work and simple component modifications.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Strong equipment/process troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Must have experience diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of gasoline and diesel engines.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance-related problems. Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions, diagrams, and work schedules while performing duties in accordance with company policies and safety requirements
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and use tools and equipment. Work is performed in both shop and field environments and may involve exposure to uneven terrain and moving mechanical equipment.
  • 18 years of age or older
