Job description

7 Days On / 7 Days Off | 7 Days Off | New Graduates Welcome

Citrus Cardiology Consultants is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our hospital-based cardiology team in Crystal River, Florida.

This is a 100% inpatient cardiology position offering a 7 days on / 7 days off daytime schedule with no outpatient clinic responsibilities. The role is ideal for an APP who enjoys hospital-based medicine and wants a predictable block schedule with extended time off throughout the year.

You'll work closely with our cardiologists and clinical team while caring for a broad cardiovascular patient population. Experienced APPs are encouraged to apply, and new graduate NPs and PAs with a strong interest in cardiovascular medicine are welcome. Our team provides support, mentorship, and handsโ€‘on training as you develop your cardiology expertise.

What You'll Do
  • Round on hospitalized cardiovascular patients
  • Evaluate and manage acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions
  • Perform inpatient cardiovascular consultations and follow-up evaluations
  • Review laboratory results, EKGs, imaging, and other diagnostic testing
  • Develop and coordinate treatment plans in collaboration with attending cardiologists
  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, and treatment plans
  • Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, and other members of the hospital care team
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
Qualifications
  • Board-certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Active Florida license or ability to obtain prior to start
  • Cardiology, hospital, or acute care experience preferred but not required
  • New graduate Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants are encouraged to apply
  • Strong interest in cardiovascular medicine
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
