Network Engineer
Contract: 12-Months (No C2C or Third-Party Vendors)
Location: Tallahassee, Florida (remote but must be living in the State of Florida)
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our team. This role is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise network, security, and telecommunications infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise across routing, switching, firewall platforms, and VoIP systems, combined with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving complex infrastructure challenges.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related discipline
  • Relevant industry certifications in one or more of the following areas are strongly preferred:
    • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Collaboration
    • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation
    • CCNA Routing and Switching
    • CCNA Voice
    • Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT)
    • Cisco Telepresence or video collaboration training
  • 3+ years of hands-on IT experience working within telecommunications and multi-platform network environments, with demonstrated proficiency across areas such as:
    • Cisco IOS, access control systems, and authentication frameworks including RADIUS and TACACS+
    • Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies and implementations
    • Virtual Private Network (VPN) architecture and administration
    • Web services protocols and integration technologies
  • Proven background providing technical support for both new and existing telecom services and infrastructure
  • Experience delivering customer-facing technical support for reported issues requiring in-depth troubleshooting and resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to lead or contribute to complex, cross-functional projects within telecommunications
  • Familiarity with IT governance frameworks, policies, and procedures for telecommunications service delivery

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Manage and optimize enterprise network, telecommunications, and security technologies
  • Design, implement, maintain network infrastructure including routing and switching platforms, security appliances, remote connectivity solutions
  • Proactively monitor infrastructure health to detect and address trends, vulnerabilities, and conditions before they escalate into service disruptions
  • Evaluate, troubleshoot, and support firewall, network, and telecommunications systems to sustain a secure and stable operational environment
  • Participate in vulnerability identification, risk prioritization, remediation efforts across network/security platforms
  • Administer network monitoring and management tools to track performance, availability, and service quality across the enterprise environment
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend technology solutions that align with operational needs, security requirements, and organizational objectives
  • Design and implement enhancements to voice, data, and security systems that improve resilience, continuity, and overall service reliability
  • Maintain and support VoIP, firewall, and communications infrastructure, including advanced troubleshooting and escalation support for complex technical issues
  • Develop technical specifications, implementation plans, and supporting documentation for network, telecommunications, and security initiatives
  • Standardize and document the network and telecommunications environment to promote operational continuity, knowledge transfer, and long-term supportability
