Title: Electrical Engineer - Serviceability
Pay Rate: $60/hr + DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday / 9:00 am - 6:00 pm

About the Role
Our client is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support Design for Serviceability initiatives focused on improving the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic vehicle systems. This role partners closely with cross-functional engineering teams and field technicians to enhance diagnostic processes, troubleshooting strategies, and overall product serviceability.
What you will be doing:
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Validation, and Product Development teams to define and implement Design for Serviceability requirements for electronic control modules and I/O systems.
  • Collaborate with the Service Documentation team to create and refine diagnostic, programming, and repair procedures.
  • Assess electronic controls for design interchangeability, hardware, firmware, and software compatibility, as well as replacement bring-up requirements.
  • Support spare part and data file release strategies through evaluation and validation activities.
  • Design, develop, and validate on-board and off-board diagnostic tools used for reporting diagnostic codes, messages, alerts, and related control functions.
  • Improve wiring system serviceability, including routing, connectors, terminals, retention clips, and schematics to simplify troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to integrate electrical components and electromechanical systems.
  • Participate in requirements definition related to serviceability, product availability, and reliability, and report significant issues for resolution.

About You
You are a collaborative and detail-oriented electrical engineering professional with experience supporting diagnostic and serviceability efforts in complex electronic systems. You are comfortable working cross-functionally and have a strong understanding of automotive electrical systems and troubleshooting processes.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with 2 to 4 years of related industry experience.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, connector end views, and pinout documentation.
  • Familiarity with automotive diagnostic tools.
  • Knowledge of vehicle communication networking protocols.
  • Ability to independently manage projects and priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with autonomous vehicle technologies.
