Both roles require licensing, but Cigna employees work directly for the company, whereas agents may represent multiple insurers. Understanding these differences helps clarify career paths and service options in the health insurance industry.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Insurance Agent at Cigna, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Insurance Agent at Cigna, you need a solid understanding of insurance products, sales techniques, and regulatory compliance, typically supported by a relevant license such as a state insurance producer license. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems, quoting software, and digital communication platforms is expected. Exceptional interpersonal skills, active listening, and problem-solving abilities help agents build trust and tailor solutions for clients. These skills ensure agents can effectively meet client needs, maintain compliance, and achieve business goals in a competitive insurance market.

How much does Cigna pay employees?
