What You’ll Do 

  • Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, performs various clerical and patient care related duties. Responsibilities include coordinating the clinical and administrative workflow on a daily basis, maintaining close working communications with the Clinical Specialist on duty in support of medical care, answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, and performing data entry.

Certified Medical Assistant Job Required Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Patient Care: Record medical histories, prepare examination rooms, administer medications/injections, and run routine lab tests.
  • Front Office: Greet patients, answer phone calls, take accurate messages, and maintain digital and physical patient charts.
  • Department Support: Clean medical instruments, monitor supply inventory, and explain provider instructions clearly to patients.
  • Active Medical Assistant certification/licensure in good standing.
  • Current BCLS (CPR) certification.
  • Commitment to safety standards (PPE, universal precautions, and ergonomic safety).
  • Flexibility to work overtime, extra shifts, or alternative schedules as needed.
  • Completion of mandatory annual education and health requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Candidates must be at least 17 years old with a high school diploma (or equivalent) and hold an active Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) credential. Previous medical office experience is required, and bilingual proficiency in Spanish is highly preferred. The role demands strong analytical, communication, and technical skills to manage medical billing, electronic data entry, venipuncture, and routine clinical care. Operating within a flexible schedule in a physician office environment, this position requires high physical stamina to stand or walk for long periods, push wheelchairs, lift at least 50 pounds, and safely position patients.
