Job description

Part Time Restaurant Server
Sunday and Monday AM shift REQUIRED, flexible on other shifts.

Status Hourly, Non-Exempt
Reports to Restaurant Manager

GENERAL PURPOSE
The Server is responsible for taking guest orders, serving, and informing guests of various beverages and food options in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner. The Server will work closely with other wait staff and the kitchen team to ensure the restaurant is operating efficiently.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Inform guests of various beverage and food pairings, sharing in-depth knowledge of beer learned through the Cicerone program.
  • Describe food ingredients, textures, and tastes in detail.
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests.
  • Monitor food distribution, ensuring that meals are delivered to the correct recipients.
  • Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card payments.
  • Assist other servers with running food.
  • Perform side work at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Maintain clean service areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES - None
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • One year of serving experience is required.
  • Must be able to complete the first level of certification in the Cicerone program.
  • Previous experience in an establishment with more than 20 beer taps preferred.
  • Must display very good organization and time management skills.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with many types of personalities.
  • Must possess basic knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
  • Must have knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of food presentation.
  • Scheduling flexibility required; must be available afternoons, evenings, weekends amp; holidays.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.

Physical Environment:
  • Endure various physical movements; Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well placed mobility for up to 8 hours.
  • Must be able to kneel, squat, bend, stoop, and twist to perform job duties.
