Purpose-led manufacturing at Cibo Vita

At Cibo Vita in Totowa, NJ, we create Nature’s Garden snacks that merge clean ingredients with inventive flavor and functional benefits. Our promise—Snack With Purpose—guides how we build wellness-forward, sustainable products and how we run our operations.

Your mission

Picture launching a new snack line: you scope the equipment upgrades, map the process changes, coordinate commissioning, and train the team—while keeping safety, quality, and speed in balance. That’s the essence of this role.

  • Lead and develop the engineering mechanics team to uphold a safe, stable, and efficient production environment.
  • Own equipment lifecycle activities—installation, maintenance, and repair—to minimize downtime and protect productivity.
  • Drive continuous improvement to enhance product quality, cut waste, and raise manufacturing efficiency.
  • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with Production, Quality Assurance, and R&D to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges.
  • Design, implement, and refine a preventive maintenance strategy for critical machinery and systems.
  • Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for food safety, equipment standards, and environmental stewardship.
  • Lead capital projects—from planning and vendor coordination to execution and handover—for upgrades and system enhancements.
  • Deliver training and mentorship that expand the plant’s technical bench strength.
  • Manage budgets and recommend cost-conscious solutions for equipment and process improvements.
  • Advance automation, leverage data analysis, and embed lean manufacturing practices across operations.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend technologies and methods that improve performance and quality.
What makes you a fit
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field; equivalent hands-on experience considered.
  • 5+ years of engineering, maintenance, or mechanic team supervision in food manufacturing or similar industry.
  • Strong command of food production processes, machinery, and food safety regulations.
  • Proven record leading maintenance/engineering teams and delivering technical projects.
  • Skilled in process optimization, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement.
  • Well-versed in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation systems.
  • Sharp troubleshooting and practical problem-solving in fast-paced environments.
  • Effective communicator with cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and MES is advantageous.
  • Project management strengths with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Exposure to sustainability practices and a passion for innovation in the food sector.
