Job description

Markon is seeking a Software Engineer 0 to support the development, integration, and maintenance of mission-critical software solutions for the Fort Meade customer. This role provides an opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers in a collaborative environment focused on designing, developing, testing, and deploying software applications that support complex technical missions. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in software development and a desire to grow their skills in advanced technologies and mission-focused systems.


  • Develop, test, and maintain software applications and system components
  • Support software integration, troubleshooting, and debugging activities
  • Collaborate with engineers and technical teams to implement software solutions based on mission requirements
  • Participate in software design, code reviews, and testing activities
  • Develop and maintain scripts, tools, and utilities to support system functionality and automation
  • Analyze and resolve software defects and performance issues
  • Document software designs, test results, and technical processes
  • Support system deployment and sustainment activities

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical field
  • Experience developing software in a Linux environment
  • Experience programming in Python and C++
  • Understanding of software development principles, debugging, and testing methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
  • Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) technologies or signal processing applications
  • Exposure to embedded systems, communications systems, or related mission technologies
  • Familiarity with version control tools and Agile development methodologies

USD $110,000.00 - USD $115,000.00 /Yr.
The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
