Job description

The Digital Media Specialist is a specialized role that assists the Asset Management and Video on Demand Team in preparing, organizing, and delivering digital media that supports the mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Church messages are distributed through broadcast, streaming, websites, mobile applications, and other digital platforms to audiences throughout the world.

Working alongside experienced Digital Media Specialists, this position supports the day-to-day operation of the Church's media management and publishing systems by helping prepare media for distribution, performing quality assurance, organizing digital assets, and ensuring content is delivered accurately and on schedule.

  • Bachelor's degree in digital media, communications, information technology, broadcast production, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with digital media, video production, streaming technologies, or media asset management is preferred but not required.

  • The Digital Media Specialist supports the team by:

  • Preparing, organizing, and quality-checking digital media for accurate, on-schedule delivery.
  • Supporting Video on Demand and digital publishing workflows across Church platforms.
  • Collaborating with producers, project teams, and vendors throughout the production process.
  • What are the responsibilities for this position?

  • Prepare, organize, and publish digital media assets using established workflows.
  • Review video, audio, captions, metadata, thumbnails, and associated deliverables for quality and accuracy.
  • Assist in managing digital media libraries and media asset management systems.
  • Monitor media processing activities and escalate technical issues when appropriate.
  • Update project information and task status in project management software.
  • Supporting live and special events by assisting in organizing and archiving digital assets.
  • Contribute to workflow documentation and operational improvements.
