Job description

Do you have a passion for strengthening relationships with local churches and helping them take their next step in fulfilling the Great Commission?

The International Mission Board is seeking a Church Engagement Associate.

Location: Richmond, VA
Schedule: Fulltime-Hybrid
Compensation:$56-325-$66,264*

The Church Engagement Associate represents IMB to a defined portfolio of churches, building meaningful relationships with pastors and church leaders while helping churches align their vision with IMB's global strategy. This role serves as a connector, coach, and resource, empowering churches to engage more fully in God's work among the nations.

  • Develop and implement customized engagement plans for assigned churches.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with pastors, staff, and lay leaders.
  • Help churches align their mission's vision with IMB's global strategy. Guide churches through opportunities to serve alongside IMB teams.
  • Support churches through connection, onboarding, equipping, and follow-up processes.
  • Identify strategic partnership opportunities between churches and field teams. Promote IMB prayer initiatives, training resources, and the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.
  • Coach churches on effectively utilizing available IMB resources.
  • Coordinate missionary speaker opportunities for churches, campuses, and events. Partner with Church Engagement and broader IMB teams to advance organizational engagement strategies.
  • Contribute to a unified and consistent church partnership experience. Maintain accurate records of church interactions, partnership activities, and key metrics.
  • Support organizational reporting and engagement tracking effort

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferred
  • At least 3 years of related ministry, church engagement, mobilization, or customer relationship experience.
  • Previous IMB field service experience, preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and CRM systems such as Dynamics
  • Active membership in a Southern Baptist Convention church
  • Strong commitment to IMB's mission and Great Commission focus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with pastors, church leaders, and ministry partners.
  • Experience working collaboratively across teams and departments.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Active membership in a Southern Baptist Convention church.
