Job description

Provide ongoing maintenance services as needed at designated property: ensure building and equipment are well maintained for staff and members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Exemplify the YMCA mission and character development.

  • Work efficiently alone and with others in a collaborative setting.

  • Inspect, evaluate and independently take action to ensure the physical condition of the facility and equipment.

  • Make repairs to the facility as needed: to include: electrical, carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, painting and mechanical.

  • Janitorial duties as needed (floor scrubber, pressure washer, etc)

  • Work with outside contractors to diagnose and repair equipment in a timely manner

  • Attend meetings as necessary.

  • Assure preventative maintenance schedules are adhered to within scheduled intervals.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.

  • Take full ownership of work, anticipate maintenance needs, and manage daily tasks with minimal supervision

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills required.

  • Prior work experience in property maintenance.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Must be able to provide proof of insurance and valid license for personal vehicle.


WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS

  • Awareness and knowledge of safety standards.

  • Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping and repetitive arm/hand movements.

  • Lifting of up to 50 lbs.

  • Occasional pushing and pulling of heavy furniture and equipment.

  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
