About the role:

Provide a safe, engaging, and Christ-centered environment for students remaining on campus after school hours. Supervise students during homework, recreation, and transition times while contributing to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christians to the praise and glory of God in keeping with the Mission Statement.

Essential Functions:

  • Reflect the school's purpose: Honor Christ in every activity and interaction.
  • Motivate students to accept God's gift of salvation and help them grow in their faith.
  • Ensure the safety and security of students at all times, maintaining strict sign-in/sign-out procedures and headcount protocols.
  • Maintain proper discipline in the classroom, playground, and school premises for an orderly environment.
  • Cooperate with Indian Rocks Christian School and Indian Rocks Baptist Church Administration in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the school's operation.
  • Plan and lead age-appropriate recreational activities, crafts, and games that interest students and challenge them to do their best.
  • Provide academic support by supervising designated homework time and assisting students with assignments as needed.
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with other After School Care staff and teachers.
  • Follow Biblical principles in dealing with students, parents, staff, and Administration in a positive Christian/Biblical manner, including all conflict resolution matters following the proper line of authority.
  • Incorporate strategies to reach the whole child: spiritual, mental, physical, social, and emotional.
Requirements:
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required. Experience in early childhood education or childcare is preferred.
  • Experience working with children in a church, camp, or school setting is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, and procedure manuals. Ability to write required reports and correspondence effectively. Ability to communicate successfully in a professional manner.
  • Cultivate an ongoing cooperative relationship between church, school, membership and community.
  • Demonstrate a consistent Christian lifestyle as referenced by the Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, and Leadership Guidelines of Indian Rocks
  • Must be willing to become an active member Indian Rocks Church, attending worship services, participating in a Life Group, serving in a ministry, and supporting stewardship in faithful tithing
  • Responsible for performing other duties as assigned and approved by supervising personnel, to include, but not limited to: Head of Schools, Principals, Lead Pastor, and Church Administrator.
