Job description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Supply Chain and Logistics Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end supply chain process, including procurement, shipping, logistics, and vendor management. The ideal candidate will work closely with internal departments and external partners to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of parts, assemblies, raw materials, and finished goods. This position requires strong expertise in supply chain management, domestic and international shipping, and collaboration with third-party vendors and component manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full supply chain process to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with company goals.
    Manage and prioritize daily procurement activities across multiple commodities.
  • Act as an electronics parts buyer, sourcing and purchasing components to support production requirements.
     

Shipping and Logistics

  • Manage domestic and international shipping operations while ensuring compliance with regulations, tariff codes, and delivery requirements.
  • Coordinate the movement of parts, assemblies, raw materials, and finished goods to support production schedules and customer demand.

Procurement and Vendor Management

  • Create, place, and manage purchase orders aligned with MRP and production demand.
  • Source and onboard new vendors, including qualification, certifications, and onboarding documentation. 
  • Collaborate with third-party contract manufacturing vendors and component manufacturers to ensure quality, cost, and delivery standards are met. 
  • Negotiate pricing and contracts to achieve cost savings while minimizing risk. 
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality and contract requirements. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    Work closely with internal departments, including engineering, finance, accounting, operations, warehouse, and customer service, to align supply chain activities with business objectives. 
  • Partner with internal teams as a trusted advisor on supply chain and procurement matters. 
  • Coordinate with operations and production teams to ensure schedules align with demand forecasts and customer requirements. 

Inventory and Delivery Management

  • Ensure the timely delivery of parts, assemblies, raw materials, and finished goods to meet production schedules and demand forecasts.
  • Analyze inventory and support the reduction of excess and obsolete materials. 
     

Budget and Performance Management

  • Monitor and control supply chain costs to ensure operations remain within budget. 
  • Lead resolution efforts for pricing, delivery, and quality issues, escalating when necessary. 
  • Conduct supplier business reviews and drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, and delivery. 
     

Process Improvement

  • Identify supply chain bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, to increase throughput. 
     

Systems Management

  • Maintain data integrity within ERP systems and use data to report on metrics such as on-time delivery and purchase price variance.

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • 3-5 years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or a related role. 
  • Strong knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations and practices. 
  • Experience working with third-party contract manufacturers and component suppliers. 
  • Ability to build models for demand forecasting, capacity planning, and inventory optimization. 
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools. 
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the electronics or manufacturing industry. 
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and demand forecasting tools, with Epicor P21 preferred. 
  • Certification in supply chain management or logistics, such as APICS CSCP, CPIM, or CLTD. 

Work Environment

  • This position may require occasional travel to meet with vendors, suppliers, or manufacturing partners. 
  • Hybrid work environment with a mix of office and remote work, depending on business needs.
