Job description

ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ. This position requires the employee to be a professing Christian and to be willing to support the Christian mission of ACU.

ACU Athletics is searching for a passionate director of creative services to guide and create engaging content that highlight ACU's Division I Athletics. This position reports to the Executive Associate AD for External Ops.


Basic Responsibilities
A. Support and execute the department's brand advancement strategy across all sports
and platforms in collaboration with the Executive Associate Athletics Director for
External Operations
B. Plan, produce, and edit content for social media, website, and other digital platforms,
as well as in-game videoboards
C. Manage the department's social media channels, including creating and scheduling
posts

Essential Duties:

A. Support and execute the department's brand advancement strategy across all sports and
platforms in collaboration with the Executive Associate Athletics Director for External
Operations.

  • Work as part of the department of Athletics staff to produce engaging video and photo content that showcases the department's programs, student-athletes, and events.

  • Supervise and lead a team of creative media assistants and undergraduate student workers to maximize athletics program coverage and provide coaching and guidance for aspiring digital media professionals.

  • Work closely with the department's marketing and strategic communications teams to ensure brand consistency and messaging alignment.

  • Collaborate with coaches, student-athletes, and staff to create content that highlights individual achievements and promotes team success.

B. Plan, produce, and edit content for social media, website, and other digital platforms, as
well as in-game videoboards

  • Collaborate with teams, marketing, communications and tickets to maintain strategy and content calendar to produce videos and digital elements for internal and external promotional efforts.

  • Assist in maintaining staff vision and philosophy for all social media platforms.

  • Expect travel with multiple teams throughout the year.

  • Coordinate the creative video and photographer production elements, including but not limited to filming and editing of all athletic department content.

  • Work in conjunction with Abilene Christian Sports Properties to implement and fulfill all corporate sponsorships.

C. Manage the department's social media channels, including creating and scheduling posts

  • Identify emerging trends and tools in sports media to enhance storytelling and fan engagement.

  • Meet quick turnarounds to post high-quality content.

  • Identify trends and themes across different types of video content to continue to tell our ACU's story in a compelling and innovative way.

  • Attend and cover department events, including games, practices, press conferences, and special events

  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics, Deputy ADs or Senior staff member.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
A. Supervise graphic designers, videographers and student workers
B. Recruit and train student workers.
C. Prepare work schedules and assignments for student workers.

Qualifications:
A. Professional

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as multimedia production, communications, or marketing

  • Minimum of three years experience working with creative video or photo, with experience in college sports a plus

  • Proficient in video and photo editing software

  • Knowledge of social media platforms and their respective best practices

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud Software
