Job description

This position is critical to the ministry of Sky Ranch and contributes directly to our mission of leading youth and families to know and follow Christ. Operations Specialists are responsible for carrying out and completing daily operational duties which facilitate an excellent guest experience. Operational duties vary and may include working within several different areas of camp such as food service, housekeeping, activities, retail, and maintenance as needed and as directed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Daily Assignments – Operations Specialists must maintain operational safety according to the policies and procedures which govern Sky Ranch, generally and each assigned department, specifically. Proper training will be provided whenever an Operation Specialist is assigned to a department or task which they have not been previously assigned. Performance is satisfactory when the staff member: Takes directions from leadership and other staff in a prompt and respectful manner Performs all assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner Conducts themselves in a mature and professional manner Arrives at assigned area and prepares for guests in a timely manner Conducts activities in accordance with Sky Ranch Policies and Procedures and training Refreshes himself/herself with all guidance and safety precautions at the beginning of every activity period Notifies the Operations Manager immediately when feeling sick or in the event of an injury Provides First Aid when needed and according to training Properly executes all Emergency Plans when needed Reports any faulty equipment Properly executes Opening/Shutdown procedures Immediately reports staff that are in violation of Sky Ranch Polices and Procedures or specific directives that have been provided by a supervisor

Daily Operations – Staff serve our guests to help them experience the "WOW factor" through serving in areas of housekeeping, camp maintenance and other tasks. These are served in such a manner that reflects 1) our desire to serve them, 2) our appreciation of them, and 3) our desire to meet and exceed their needs and expectations. Performance is satisfactory when: Guests are served in a manner that reflects their importance to us. Any situation where we fail to serve/please guests is brought to the attention of the supervisor and/or the Camp Director.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain compliance with all employee policies and procedures at Sky Ranch. Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements. Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS: CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Ministry Safe Certification (will provide upon hire)

KNOWLEDGE OF Workplace safety procedures

SKILLS AND ABILITIES IN Excellent communication skills (verbally interacts with campers, parents and staff and writes evaluations and letters to campers)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Stands and walks long distances across camp during entire shift Verbally communicates with guests Reaches, bends and stoops frequently Capable of participating in all camp activities Climbs ladders to assist in facilitation of activities Carries up to 50 lbs. Hazards may include, but are not limited to, slipping, tripping and environmental. Frequent washing of hands is required.

OTHER Commitment to Christian principles and teachings both professionally and personally. Must be able to fully support Sky Ranch's Doctrinal Statement. An active membership in a church whose spiritual beliefs are aligned with Sky Ranch's Doctrinal Statement. Commitment to Sky Ranch's Vision, Mission, Values (A.R.E.) and Principles (WOW, Stewardship, and Excellence) demonstrated in daily behavior. Must demonstrate annually a clear background check and review of child safety practices as required for camp accreditation by the American Camping Association. Possess personal spiritual discipline that models a proactive approach toward personal, spiritual, and relational health.
