Job description

Description

The Substitute Teacher supports and advances the mission of FCS by filling in for absent teachers and assisting in various roles as directed by the Principal; reports to the building Principal.


A. Arrives on time to prepare for the day and assumes the teacher's assigned responsibilities

B. Follows the lesson plan as closely as possible and maintains an orderly environment

C. Fulfills duties including taking attendance and communicating with the teacher regarding work accomplished, student behavior and any other pertinent information

D. Reports hours worked in a timely and accurate manner



Requirements

The Substitute Teacher should have the following qualifications:


1. Committed Christian with a close personal walk with the Lord and the Christian character qualities to serve as a role model for young people

2. Regular in attendance at an evangelical Protestant church

3. Commitment to a Biblical lifestyle, not promoting or engaging in premarital, extramarital, transgender, or homosexual behavior

4. If married, a solid commitment based on Mark 10:9 and positive marital relationship

5. Strong commitment to Christian education

6. College degree and teaching experience preferred, but not required

7. Ability to manage a class and relate well with students

8. Teachable, servant spirit
