Job description

Annapolis Area Christian School Summer Programs provide a Christ-centered summer experience where students grow through creativity, teamwork, discovery, and fun. Each week includes engaging themes, hands-on activities, and opportunities for students to build confidence, friendships, and character.
AACS is seeking a creative and highly organized Summer Camp Media Producer / Video Editor to capture the story of our summer camps through polished weekly videos, photography, camper skits, and promotional media. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, understands visual storytelling, and can produce warm, engaging, well-edited content for parents, staff, and the broader AACS community.
The goal of this position is not simply to "take pictures." We are looking for someone who can help create beautiful, high-quality weekly highlight videos that showcase the joy, energy, faith, creativity, and excellence of AACS Summer Programs.
Position Overview
The Summer Camp Media Producer / Video Editor will film and edit weekly themed camp videos, assist campers with video skits, capture promotional footage, and produce a final summer recap video highlighting the full camp experience.
This person will work closely with the Summer Programs team to document activities throughout the week and deliver polished, parent-facing content that reflects the mission, values, and quality of AACS.
Position Dates: June 15 - August 7
Schedule: Monday through Friday during camp operating hours (8:20-4:20, with some variance)
Required Training: Friday, June 5, 5:30-8:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 6, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Key Responsibilities
  • Film and photograph daily camp activities, special events, themed activities, and student engagement.
  • Produce polished weekly highlight videos for parents and staff that capture the theme, energy, and story of each camp week.
  • Assist campers with the creation of weekly video skits, including filming, directing, and basic editing.
  • Plan, organize, and edit a final promotional video summarizing the summer and showcasing AACS camp offerings.
  • Capture high-quality footage suitable for future camp promotion, email marketing, website use, and social media.
  • Edit videos with strong pacing, music selection, clean transitions, captions/text overlays where appropriate, and professional visual presentation.
  • Organize media files clearly and maintain a usable library of photos and videos for AACS.
  • Work collaboratively with camp leadership, counselors, and students to identify moments worth capturing.
  • Follow all AACS procedures regarding student privacy, media-release permissions, parent/guardian consent, and appropriate use of student images.
  • Foster a positive, encouraging, Christ-centered environment for campers.
  • Serve as a positive role model who reflects the mission and values of AACS.
  • Participate in staff meetings and assist with the care and organization of camp/media equipment.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is creative, dependable, and comfortable moving quickly in an active summer camp environment. This person should be able to capture authentic moments, tell a story through video, and edit content that feels polished, joyful, and professional.
Strong candidates will have an eye for:
  • storytelling;
  • music and pacing;
  • clean transitions;
  • color and visual consistency;
  • emotional moments;
  • child-appropriate, parent-friendly content;
  • short-form promotional video;
  • organized weekly production deadlines.

Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Prior experience filming and editing video content required.
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, Canva, or comparable editing software.
  • Ability to produce polished weekly video content on a deadline.
  • Strong sense of visual storytelling and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with children in a fast-paced camp environment.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently while staying aligned with camp leadership.
  • Experience with photography, social media content, school/camp content, ministry media, sports media, or promotional video preferred.
  • Portfolio, sample video, or editing reel strongly preferred.
  • Enthusiastic about working in a Christian school environment with children.
  • Must profess faith in Jesus Christ, affirm and support the AACS Statement of Faith, model Christian character, and demonstrate active involvement in a local church or Christian faith community.

Compensation and Benefits
This is a seasonal, temporary, non-exempt position paying $17.00-$19.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Benefits include lunch during scheduled camp workdays and camp services for eligible children of the employee, subject to availability and AACS policy. This position is not eligible for full-time employee benefits.
Required training time is paid.
Child Safety and Employment Requirements
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all AACS-required background checks, fingerprinting, CPS/child protection clearances, reference checks, and required child-safety trainings.
This position is also subject to AACS policies regarding mandated reporting, appropriate adult/student boundaries, student supervision, media permissions, confidentiality, professional conduct, and appropriate use of school equipment and student images.
