What is a Christian copywriter?

A Christian copywriter is a professional writer who creates marketing, advertising, or informational content specifically for Christian organizations, ministries, or businesses. They use their understanding of Christian values, language, and culture to produce materials that resonate with faith-based audiences. Christian copywriters may work on church websites, fundraising campaigns, devotionals, or promotional materials for faith-based products and services. Their goal is to communicate messages that align with Christian beliefs while engaging and persuading readers.

How does a Christian copywriter balance faith-based messaging with marketing objectives?

A Christian Copywriter skillfully weaves biblical values and positive messaging into copy while also ensuring the content aligns with the client’s marketing strategy and goals. This often involves collaborating closely with ministry leaders, marketing teams, or non-profit stakeholders to understand both the spiritual mission and the brand’s unique voice. One common challenge is maintaining authenticity and scriptural accuracy while crafting compelling calls-to-action that resonate with both faith-based and broader audiences. Regular feedback and open communication with cross-functional teams help ensure the messaging is both effective and true to core Christian principles.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Christian copywriter, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Christian Copywriter, you need strong writing and editing skills, a solid understanding of Christian theology, and experience crafting faith-based content. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), SEO tools, and digital marketing platforms is typically required. Creativity, empathy, and cultural sensitivity are important soft skills that help engage diverse audiences authentically. These abilities ensure the creation of compelling, mission-aligned content that resonates with readers and supports organizational goals.

What is the difference between Christian Copywriter vs Content Writer?

Work EnvironmentReligious organizations, faith-based brands, Christian mediaVarious industries including marketing, media, corporate websites
Employer & Industry UsageUsed by churches, Christian publishers, faith-based nonprofitsUsed across diverse sectors like tech, health, finance, and more

Christian Copywriters focus on creating content that aligns with Christian values and faith-based messaging, often working for religious organizations or faith-centered brands. Content Writers have a broader scope, producing content for various industries without necessarily incorporating religious themes. While both roles require strong writing skills, Christian Copywriters often need familiarity with Christian doctrine and terminology, making their role more specialized within faith-based marketing and communication.

Job description

About OpenLoop
OpenLoop was co-founded by CEO, Dr. Jon Lensing, and COO, Christian Williams, with the vision to bring care anywhere. Our telehealth support solutions are thoughtfully designed to streamline and simplify go-to-market care delivery for companies offering meaningful virtual support to patients across an expansive array of specialties, in all 50 states.
About the Role
OpenLoop is looking for a Performance Marketing Lead to take a critical leadership role in our growth marketing efforts.
In this role, you will help shape, execute, and optimize performance marketing strategies across OpenLoop's next phase of growth. You will be instrumental as OpenLoop expands its self-service, product-led growth motion and reaches more small and midsize businesses through our brick-and-mortar business units.
You will own campaign execution across major paid media channels, build rigorous end-to-end measurement with our Revenue Intelligence team, and translate performance data into rapid optimizations and long-term strategic recommendations. You will also partner closely with creative, product-led growth, and marketing leadership to develop high-performing campaigns that connect media investment directly to revenue.
This role requires deep platform expertise, analytical rigor, strong business judgment, AI-first execution, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment.
What You'll Do
  • Performance Marketing Strategy: Partner with the Director of Product-Led Growth and VP of Marketing to develop growth marketing strategies that support OpenLoop's product-led growth, SMB, and brick-and-mortar business objectives.
  • Paid Media Channel Ownership: Develop channel strategies across Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, YouTube, Microsoft Ads, and other emerging or relevant performance marketing platforms.
  • Campaign Execution & Management: Lead the hands-on setup, launch, management, and optimization of paid media campaigns across platforms.
  • End-to-End Revenue Measurement: Work closely with Revenue Intelligence to build detailed reporting that connects every dollar of advertising investment to pipeline, customers, and revenue.
  • Performance Analysis & Optimization: Dive deeply into campaign and revenue data to identify insights, rapidly optimize performance, and uncover opportunities for growth.
  • Strategic Recommendations: Translate campaign results and market signals into clear, long-term recommendations on channel mix, budget allocation, audience strategy, and future growth priorities.
  • Creative Collaboration: Partner closely with the creative team to develop and iterate on performance-focused concepts, copy, video, and static creative.
  • AI-Enabled Execution: Use AI throughout the performance marketing process, including research, data analysis, audience development, creative concept generation, copywriting, campaign iteration, and reporting.
  • Account-Based Marketing Support: Help execute focused paid advertising programs that support account-based marketing campaigns and priority target accounts.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Clearly communicate campaign performance, insights, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders who may not have a performance marketing background.

Who You Are
  • 5+ years of performance marketing experience, with proven expertise managing campaigns across both Meta and Google Ads.
  • Experience with TikTok Ads and YouTube Ads is strongly preferred.
  • Experience operating in a high-volume SMB, B2B, or product-led growth environment is required.
  • E-commerce experience may also be relevant when paired with a strong understanding of B2B growth, customer acquisition, and revenue principles.
  • Proven experience owning paid media campaigns from strategy and execution through optimization, measurement, and revenue attribution.
  • Strong analytical instincts, with the ability to identify meaningful insights within complex performance and revenue data.
  • AI is naturally embedded into how you work. You approach operations as AI-first across analysis, research, creative development, copywriting, optimization, and reporting.
  • Proven examples of building AI into your processes end to end to improve speed, quality, efficiency, or performance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex performance marketing topics clearly and concisely to non-specialist audiences.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and effectively lead multiple initiatives at once.
  • A builder mindset with strong ownership, attention to detail, curiosity, and a bias toward rapid experimentation.
  • Experience in healthcare, health tech, telehealth, or digital health is a plus but not required.
Our Benefits
In addition, for salaried positions you would also be eligible for:
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision plans
  • Flexible Spending/Health Savings Accounts
  • Flexible PTO
  • 401(k) + Company Match
  • Life Insurance, Pet insurance, and more

Our Company
We have a relatively flat organizational structure here at OpenLoop. Everyone is encouraged to bring ideas to the table and make things happen. This fits in well with our core values of Autonomy, Competence and Belonging, as we want everyone to feel empowered and supported to do their best work.
Sound like a good fit? We'd love to meet you.
