Position

Head Track and Field Coach
Part Time, Exempt, Seasonal
Reports to: Athletic Director
Education/Experience Required/Preferred: A High School Diploma degree is required.

Pay Range: $2,000 - $4,000 based on experience

General Responsibilities

As the Head Coach, you will be responsible for organizing the program. The position assists with conducting practices, motivating students, and instructing student-athletes in game strategies and techniques.

Essential Duties:

1. Instructs players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.

2. Organizes and directs individual and team practices.

3. Assesses players skills, monitors players during competition and practice.

4. Determines game strategy.

5. Supervises athletes during practices and competition.

6. Follows established procedures in the event of an athletes injury.

7. Models positive sportsmanship and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.

8. Distributes equipment, supplies, and uniforms to students.

9. Performs support tasks such as distributing and maintaining eligibility forms, emergency data cards, and other related records.

10. Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.

11. Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director, & Principal or other appropriate administrator.

Qualifications:

Village Christian School seeks to hire only employees with a vibrant Christian faith. Successful candidates will possess experience in:

  • A commitment to the mission of Village Christian School
  • Coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level
  • Possess knowledge in the sport, including, but not limited to strategy, skill building, practice and game planning
  • Communicate effectively and positively with students, parents, and other coaches
  • Work cooperatively with others as part of a team
  • Ability to exemplify high Christian ideals in a spirit of cooperativeness with integrity

This position reports directly to the Athletic Director and is a seasonal, stipend position.
