Apostolic Christian Bookstore Inventory Associate

Reports to: Publications Administrative Assistant

Classification: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Location: Apostolic Christian Bookstore, Goodfield, IL

Hours: Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30-11:30 AM


Position Summary

The ACB Inventory Associate is responsible for receiving, organizing, tracking, and replenishing books and merchandise to maintain accurate inventory and support efficient store operations. This role works with other bookstore staff to ensure products are readily available, accurately tracked, and presented in an organized manner. The shifts will be worked at the bookstore in Goodfield, IL from 8:30am-11:30 am with the possibility of additional morning hours being added.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

-Receive, unpack, and process incoming book and merchandise shipments.

-Stock shelves and displays, ensuring products are organized and properly merchandised.

-Maintain accurate inventory records through inventory management systems and cycle counts.

-Monitor inventory levels and notify management of low-stock or out-of-stock items.

-Organize and maintain warehouse area for efficiency and safety.

-Support store operations including helping customers in person or over the phone.

-Prepare orders for shipment or pick-up.

-Lead annual inventory count.

Performs other duties as assigned; responsibilities may be adjusted as organizational needs evolve.

Qualifications

Church/Spiritual Qualifications

  • Active member in good standing in the Apostolic Christian Church of America, with local elder approval.
  • Commitment to serving the full spectrum of ACCA membership across all congregations.
  • Support the ACCA Statement of Faith and Statement on Marriage and Sexuality.
  • Models a lifestyle and character that reflects Christian values in both personal conduct and professional leadership.
  • Collaborative, servant-hearted leadership style.

Professional Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory tracking and data entry.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory management systems. Previous experience with Quickbooks and Microsoft Office products preferred.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Meets all legal requirements for employment and authorization to work.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation


Physical/Environmental Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Capable of lifting and moving boxes and merchandise up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
