About the Organization
One of the leading private schools in Raleigh, N.C., Wake Christian Academy was established in 1966 and operates as a Biblically-based, Christ-centered Christian day school. It is a private, unaffiliated, board-governed, nonprofit institution which seeks to maintain high academic and spiritual standards.
Wake Christian Academy admits students of any race, color, nationality, and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities accorded to students at the school.
The school, consisting of kindergarten, elementary, middle school, and senior high school levels, is concerned with the spiritual as well as the intellectual growth of its students. Wake Christian Academy is a fully accredited member of Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and Cognia. Wake Christian Academy strives to maintain a high standard of excellence as set forth by these organizations. WCA teachers are certified by ACSI, and many faculty members maintain licensure by the State of North Carolina.

Position: Head Coach
Reports to: Athletic Director
Status: Part-time
Our coaches understand the mission of Wake Christian Academy and strive to live it out with their athletes daily. The coaching behaviors are:

  • Prioritizing Character over Performance
  • Emphasizing Respect and Sportsmanship

They should have a calling to this ministry to help shape athletes who can be ambassadors for Christ in the athletic community and beyond.
Job goal - Instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success in a biblical manner. At the same time, the student shall receive instruction that will lead to the formulation of spiritual and positive values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, and self-confidence.
Position Requirements
  • Exhibit a consistent Christian testimony (Galatians 5:22-23)
  • Personal Relationship with Jesus Christ (John 3, Ephesians 2:8-9)
  • Participates in a local Bible-believing church
  • Ability to apply Biblical solutions to problems
  • Personal integrity and self-motivation in the fulfillment of WCA mission
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people
  • Knowledge of WCA athletic policies and procedures
  • Ability to communicate professionally
  • Ability to have a Christ-like attitude with pressure situations
  • Speaks, reads, and writes English fluently
