Job Summary:

The LogisticsSpecialist (LS)supports24/7operationsandperforms operational,logistical support, and administrative tasksrequiredto support ground and air transportation.

The LogisticsSpecialist worksin conjunctionwith field staffandsite leadership,CommandCenter,corporatelogisticsdepartment, and stakeholderstocoordinatethe safe transport of minorsand/or familiesandstaff.He/she managesdaily operations for inventory, supplies, distribution,facilities,and transportationfor the site assigned.The Logistics Specialist conductsvehiclesafety,including regular preventative and correctivevehiclemaintenance, and ensuresdriversare authorized tooperatevehicles.

Essential Functions:

  • Followscompany and contractpolicies, procedures, and guidance.

  • Prepares, reviews, and coordinates the documentation,personal propertyand special accommodationsrequiredfor transportation of all minors and ensures all paperwork is providedfor proper transport for reunification or transfer to shelter.

  • Assistswith transfer of custody and property for small and/or large groups.

  • Keepsin constantcommunication withtransportteamsassumingcustody ofminorsand/or family units,to includechecking status of vehiclesinroute.

  • Informs Command CenterandSite leadershipof any transport cancellations.

  • Inventories, orders, and delivers meals, supplies,electronics,and/or clothing; prepares backpackswithessentials includingtabletand mobilephonefor trips.

  • Drives passengers to and from client sites and/or airports.

  • Installs/removes child car and booster seats based on age and height/weight, asrequired.

  • Observes andassistswith UC and/or family unit orientation, answersquestions, and describesthe transport process.

  • Assistsin charterflights/busespreparations,to includereviewing documentation, inspecting bathrooms for cleanliness to ensure high standard of quality, and driving to flightline.

  • Cleans vehicles, sanitizes interiors, and ensures they are fueled and ready for ground trips.

  • Checksvehicles for contraband and ensure coolers and emergency kits are in vehicles.

  • Updates information in the company's database systems(e.g., Canvas, Verizon Connect, Pantry, fleet system, etc.)and prepares transportation,equipment, inventory, and meal reports as well as Ad Hoc reports asrequired.

  • Assistsintracking, andmonitoringlogisticsspecific training (e.g.,DOT, inventory, fleet, facilities,etc.) andassistswithlogisticsprojects as needed.

  • Assistsmanagement staff with cost benefit estimates as directed by supervisor.

  • Monitors and reportsDOT compliance,camera surveillanceandGPS tracking, driver IDs (e.g.,key fobs),andHours of Serviceinformationforcompliance purposes and elevates concerns to supervisor and Site Manager.

  • Follows company quality control and inspection plans and executesthecompany's Fleet Managementprogram, includingPreventive Maintenance(PM), mileagetracking,registration, tolls, inspections, logs,etc.,asrequired.

  • Tracks inventory and supplies; monitors availability of stock;coordinates with Logistics Supervisor and Site Manager on shortages.

  • Executesthe facility management program,and reports anysite repairsandbuilding wear and tearto Logistics Supervisor and Site Manager

  • Participates inlogisticssynchronization meetings asrequested.

  • Performs otherduties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Qualifications:

  • Possess an associate degree inan appropriate disciplinefrom an accredited college (a high school diploma with two or more years of relevant experience may be substituted for an associate degree) and,

  • Have at least two years of documented experience in a field related to security, law, socialwork,detention,corrections,orsimilaroccupationalarea;certification,licensure, and credentials applicable to the professional accreditation of the position (a minimum of four years of experience is required when a high school diploma with two or more years of relevant experience is substituted for an associate degree).

  • Two or more years' experience in business,logistics, transportation, supplychainora relatedfield.

  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance (e.g.,PM, inspections, safety checks, etc.,)as well as warehouse and inventory procedures (e.g.,FIFO concept).

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employeesand withclients.

  • Bilingualin English and Spanishrequired.

  • Ability to take technicaldirectionand feedback from various sources.

  • Committed to providing outstanding customer service and representation of MVM in a professional manner.

  • Requires the ability to prioritize work, meet stringent deadlines, balance multipletasksand work in a team environment.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to pass a Government Security Background Investigation, including a favorable credit check, no criminal record, and no prior drug use.

  • Worka flexible schedule, including nights,weekends,and graveyard shifts.

  • Demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel). Inventory and surveillance software experience preferred.

  • Possess a valid and current driver's license withsafedrivingrecord.

  • Experience using tablets and smart phonetechnology.

  • Ability to deliver the highest quality of work under extreme pressure.

Clearance:

  • The applicantsselectedwill besubject to a government background investigation and maybe requiredto meet the following conditions of employment.

Security Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain/maintainSecurityClearance.

  • Favorable credit check for all cleared positions.

  • Successfully pass a background investigation, drug screen.

  • May berequiredto pass or present specific requirements depending on the program (e.g.,DOT exam, vaccinations, CPR, flu shot).

  • Valid US passport bookrequiredor proof of beingin the process of obtainingone, depending on the program.

  • US Citizenship, Permanent Residency.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

Consider the position at hand (i.e., lifting, pushing, and pulling will not be very necessary). Percentages should bemodifiedto reflect the necessity for each position.

Standing/Walking/Mobility: Musthavethe mobilityto attend meetings with other managers and employees.

Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling:0% - 10% of the time

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing:0% - 10% of the time, must be able tolift upto 40 lbs.

Fine Motor Skills/Dexterity:Must be able to write,typeand use a telephone system 100% of the time.
