Overview:

This position, Production Machine Operator is responsible for operating production machines to produce concrete products.

Essential Functions:

  • Operate equipment (MBK,Packerhead,Vibromac) efficiently to produce concrete products from raw material to yard stage
  • Inspect the quality of products according to standards
  • Assistinmaintainingaccurateandtimelyproduction goals
  • Monitor the operations of machinery and associated equipment and report any concerns or malfunctions
  • Perform machine set-up and clean-up and other functions associated with job changes
  • Maintain housekeeping in assigned area
  • Cross train on other aspects of production process
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Education and experience:

  • Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environmentrequired. Experience in the precast concrete/pipe manufacturing industry preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety procedures, machineoperatingand maintenance instructions
  • Ability tomaintaina high levelof accuracy in all aspects of the position
  • Current Driver’s License
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency preferred
  • Mustbe able to perform basic math.

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee isfrequentlyexposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanicalpartsand vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
  • Will work in varied outdoor environments (in all weather conditions - heat, cold, wet, humid,dryand/or dusty conditions).
  • Exposure to cement, and other raw materials. 

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employeeis occasionally required tostand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects,toolsor controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move products and supplies, up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to read,writeand verbally communicate in the English language (Bilingual a plus)
  • Must be able to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection
  • Must be able to sit andoperateequipment forlong periodsup to 10+ hours per day

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 2:30 p.m. - 1:30 a.m. OT will berequiredas needed. Scheduled shift hours are subject to change to meet business needs. This position occasionally requires weekend work.
