Job description

China Daily USA is seeking a news editor with a strong journalism background and deep expertise in China–US relations. This role involves editing and producing high‐quality publishing content, ensuring that our coverage is engaging, insightful, and relevant to our audience. The position requires working a late shift from afternoon through evening.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Write late-breaking news and edit stories.
  • Develop and execute editorial strategies focusing on China-US relations.
  • Curate and produce in‐depth analytical reporting on news and current affairs.
  • Stay current on major developments in US-China relations and identify key issues to cover.
  • Work a late shift from afternoon through evening.
  • Stay closely connected with the US team and coordinate regularly with colleagues in Beijing.


Requirements:

  • Journalism background with experience in news reporting and editing.
  • Deep understanding of China-US relations, including political, economic, and cultural dynamics.
  • Ability to write and edit fluently in both English and Chinese.
  • Excellent editorial judgment and ability to distill complex topics into concise and compelling content.
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
