Job Summary: Diagnoses, prevents, or treats disease based on traditional Chinese medical concepts of treating specific areas of the human body, known as acupuncture points or meridians.
Job Responsibilities and RequirementsPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collects medical histories and general lifestyle information from patients. Assess patient's general physical appearance to properly treat.
- Educates patients on topics such as meditation, ergonomics, stretching, exercise, nutrition, the healing process, breathing, and relaxation techniques.
- Administers treatment through the use of manual, thermal, or electrical stimulation; acupuncture needles and moxibustion.
- Maintains and follows standard quality, safety, and environmental infection control procedures.
- Maintains detailed and complete records of health care plans.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Occasional use of vision to judge distances and spatial relationships and to identify and distinguish colors.

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
Resuscitation Certification Requirement: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) required within 90 day of employment. Other resuscitation certifications may be required dependent on department.
