PURPOSE

The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods. This position also ensures the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Sorts and rinses dirty dishes, glass, tableware and other cooking utensils and place them in racks to send through dish machine
  • Sorts and stacks clean dishes. Carries clean dishes to cook’s line and other proper storage areas. Rewashes soiled dishes before delivering
  • Changes dishwater in dish machines as required
  • Washes pots, pans, trays and other items by hand as necessary
  • Fills/empties soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions
  • Sweeps/mops floors
  • Notifies manager any time dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures
  • Must interact with student employees in a positive manner
  • May assist with food production
  • May assist with dining room clean-up, and put chairs up and take chairs down
  • May assist with replenishment of condiments and paper products
  • May assist with refuse removal
  • Other duties may be assigned tor each individual and organizational goals

SCOPE AND DIRECTION 

  • Reports to: CAS Restaurants and Cafes Management

  • FSLA Status: Hourly
  • Rate of pay: $17.05
