What is the 3 2 1 rule for chimneys?

The 3-2-1 rule for chimneys is a safety guideline recommending that chimneys be inspected and cleaned at least every three months during heavy use, every two years for moderate use, and every one year for infrequent use to prevent creosote buildup and ensure proper venting. Regular maintenance helps reduce fire hazards and maintain efficient operation, which is essential for chimney technicians and homeowners alike.
