Responsible for providing instruction and assuring each child is well cared for and safe at the CISD Employee Child Care Center. Qualifications:
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Bilingual preferred

Education/Certification:
Per the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS), new employees with less than 2 years' experience must:
  • Obtain 24 hours of pre-service training within 90 days of hire to work in a licensed center (employees will not be compensated for pre-service hours)
  • Complete 8 of the 24 hours of pre-service training hours before being counted in the child/caregiver ratio
  • Have high school diploma, high school equivalent, or high school certificate of coursework completion as defined in Texas Education Code, ยง28.025(d)
  • Acquire and maintain current CPR, First Aid and Food Handler's certificates
  • Child Development Associates (CDA), Associates Degree in Early Childhood or closely related field or Valid Texas Education Aide Certificate...

Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Knowledge of TDFPS minimum standards for child-care centers
  • Knowledge of developmental milestones of young children
