About This Role

Levato's Little Ones is a Paths-to-Quality rated Preschool/Daycare. Preschool Assistants engage and instruct preschool-aged children (3 months to 5 years) to explore, learn, and play in ways designed to build self-confidence and a strong foundation for school.

We are seeking individuals who are energetic, creative, and enthusiastic about working with preschool children. Applicants with an interest or experience in childcare, early childhood education, or elementary education, or who simply have a love for children are encouraged to apply. Working with Levato's Little Ones will provide additional experience for individuals who may also be interested in pursuing a Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate.


This listing is for a full-time position.

Full-time position pays $31,200-$36,400 per year @ $15-17.50/hour. Pay commensurate with experience and education.


What You'll Do
  • Work with the general direction of the daycare Director and Team Leads (Lead positions are available).
  • Assist in the development and supervision of children ages 3 mos to 5 years old.
  • Assist in maintaining a positive, healthy and nurturing environment for infants and toddlers.
  • Assist with designing and preparing creative materials and classrooms for activities to promote intellectual and creative growth, taking into consideration students' varying needs and interests.
  • Engage children in learning activities and creative play designed to promote intellectual, physical, mental, and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling, reading books to class and field trips.
  • Attend to children's basic needs by aiding with dressing, feeding, bathing, diapering, bathroom activities, etc.
  • Interact with children in a safe and compassionate manner.
  • Teach basic skills, such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, proper eating habits, personal hygiene, and social skills.
  • Observe and evaluate children's performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
  • Identify children showing signs of emotional, developmental, or health-related problems and discuss them with supervisors and child development specialists as needed.
  • Communicate with parents about each child's daily accomplishments, interests, and challenges.
  • Prepare reports on students and activities as required by administration.
  • Complete training requirements as required by certification agencies.

Requirements
  • Have the ability to perform job duties.
  • Be passionate about working with children and able to build a rapport with preschoolers.
  • Demonstrate a positive and energetic attitude with a patient and caring demeanor.
  • Have experience or interest in childcare or early childhood education.
  • Have an interest in pursuing a Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate is a plus but not required.
  • Be physically able to engage infants and preschooler in fun activities, which may include lifting up to 30 pounds.
  • Be reliable, dependable, and trustworthy.

Nice To Haves
  • Data entry and general computer, tablet and cell phone experience are nice to have but not required.
  • Experience with educational software, age-appropriate games and toys is nice to have but not required.

Our focus is on providing our "little ones" with the development and education they will need to be ready for school and have a strong foundation for success.


We are situated in a lovely country setting on 8 acres providing plenty of space for our children to explore, learn and play both inside and out. We provide an active and loving atmosphere where we value each child and connect with them on their level. Our facility is operational Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
