Job description

Title: Finance and Operations Manager 
Location: Walnut Creek, On site 
Employment Type: Temp to Hire 
Salary Range: $80k-$85K 
 

The Finance and Operations Manager oversees the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of a nonprofit organization in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role manages accounting, banking, and financial functions, works closely with the CEO, oversees HR and administrative operations and assists with grant preparation.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage all accounting and bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable and receivable, capital assets, banking, and payroll.
  • Assist with developing and monitoring grant budgets and financial reporting.
  • Process and track all donations and contributions.
  • Coordinate annual financial audits with the CPA firm and oversee preparation of IRS Form 990.
  • Facilitate the annual budgeting process.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and analyze financial statements, including the Statement of Activities, fund balances, and sources and uses of funds
  • Provide administrative support by managing facility vendors, contracts, and vendor relationships.
  • Oversee daily office operations, facilities, vendors, and office infrastructure.
  • Streamline office procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Support employee onboarding/offboarding, HR administration, benefits, payroll, and insurance coordination.
  • Assist the CEO and team with administrative and operational initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ yrs of relevant experience, preferably in a nonprofit.
  • Experience with bookkeeping, financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, and grant reporting.
  • Working knowledge of human resources and benefits administration.
  • Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate across teams, and manage multiple priorities
