Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Chief Medical Officer for Holy Cross Hospital - Jordan Valley, Holy Cross Hospital - West Valley, you will be responsible for providing leadership, strategic direction and overall operational management of physician services and medical staff administration. This role reports to the Chief Executive Officer of the facility to develop strategic plans, policies and address operational issues that build effective relationships between the hospital and its Medical Staff to produce excellence in clinical outcomes. 

Every day our CMO must have a personal and professional connection to the mission of our faith-based organization. You must be a team player and contribute toward a team centered approach that lends itself to ensuring 'team before self' as we lead our complex, highly matrixed organization into the differentiated leading role as the-system-of-choice. You will invite others into your mission and Community Health work in order to be fully transparent with the activities of your position, allowing for celebration of success and learnings through opportunities for change. As our CMO, you will be a change agent for the health system by being bold in your thoughts and actions that generate the need for urgency as we forge ahead as the thought leader in our industry. Finally, you must demonstrate personal and professional accountability to our community, employees, nurses and physicians for performance that this role and its team complete.

To be successful in this role you must demonstrate the following:

  • Establishing and implementing standards and policies within each hospital and across hospitals to ensure quality of medical care.
  • Partnering with the Chief Nursing Officers to provide effective multidisciplinary approaches to clinical outcome management and environments of quality and safety.
  • Working closely with the Market Chief Medical Officer and CME to meet Market, Region and System-wide strategies, goals, objectives and standards.
  • Serving as the primary community resource to all hospital communities and provides advice and counsel to administrators on medical and administration matters related to medical practice and current affairs.
Job Requirements

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

Required:

  • Five (5) years’ experience in delivery of physician services and medical staff administration with proven success in progressive responsibility in healthcare leadership
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission, managed care, and health policy is essential with proven success in effective integration of medical management
  • Board certified in an approved clinical specialty required while in clinical practices
  • MD or DO, DR-Current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in applicable state

Preferred: 

  • Master’s in business administration
  • Medical staff relations, quality measurement credentialing and previous medical management experience is highly desirable

Physical Requirements: Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
