Full-time

Posted 7 days ago

Job description

Cobalt Service Partners is looking for a full-time Vice President of Operations to lead operations at one of our partner companies in Ogden, UT. In this role, you will own field team execution, subcontractor relationships, and cost and budget oversight, reporting directly to the CEO. You'll help build the operating structure and processes for a business that is scaling quickly, standardizing systems, developing standard operating procedures, and driving operational discipline across the organization. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in field services, trades, or security/low-voltage operations, with real profit and loss ownership, experience managing subcontractor relationships, and a track record of building process in fast-growing organizations.

What You'll Do
  • Own day-to-day operational execution across field teams delivering security systems, access control, and related field service work.
  • Vet, manage, and hold subcontractors and vendors accountable for quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Own the operational side of the P&L, including budgeting, cost oversight, and cash management, in partnership with finance.
  • Build and standardize SOPs, workflows, and reporting systems to support a scaling organization.
  • Lead staffing, scheduling, and performance management for field technicians and operational managers, reporting directly to the CEO.
What We're Looking For
  • 8+ years of operations leadership experience, ideally in field services, trades, or a related industry with distributed field teams.
  • Direct profit and loss ownership, revenue and cost, not solely budget or cost-center management.
  • Experience managing subcontractor relationships, including vetting, contracts, and accountability for quality and schedule.
  • Experience building or scaling operations in a smaller, fast-moving organization, with strong process and SOP-building skills.
  • Comfort operating in a lean, hands-on environment without a dedicated sales function attached to the role.
Preferred Experience
  • Background in commercial security, access control, low voltage, or entrance solutions industries.
  • Experience with video management platforms such as Genetec.
  • Experience serving national accounts, warehouse automation, arenas, or other large-scale commercial facilities.
  • Experience operating within a private equity-backed or acquisition-driven organization.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive compensation, commensurate with experience
  • Direct reporting relationship with the CEO and real influence over operations
  • The opportunity to help build and shape a fast-growing organization
  • A collaborative, tightly knit culture with deep trade and industry expertise
  • Growth potential as the company continues to expand
