Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a full-time, onsite Chief of Staff to join the Mission Solutions Business Sector. The Chief of Staff serves as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the Mission Operations Business Sector President, enabling effective execution of business priorities, operational initiatives, and growth objectives. This role functions as a business integrator and extension of the President, providing analytical support, business insights, executive-level coordination, and operational leadership across the sector.
The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen with exceptional organizational and communication skills, demonstrating the ability to synthesize complex information, develop actionable recommendations, and drive execution across multiple stakeholders. This position is designed for an early-to-mid career professional seeking broad exposure to executive leadership, business operations, strategic planning, and growth within a government contracting environment.
The Chief of Staff will help translate strategy into action by coordinating key initiatives, supporting business reviews, tracking performance metrics, facilitating decision-making, and ensuring alignment across the organization.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of professional experience in business operations, management consulting, business analysis, program support, corporate strategy, or related disciplines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience interpreting business and operational data.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and execute in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
  • Experience within the government contracting (GovCon), defense, aerospace, federal services, or technology sectors.
  • Management consulting or business consulting experience.
  • Familiarity with business performance metrics, financial drivers, growth pipelines, and operating models.
  • Experience supporting senior executives or leadership teams.
  • Understanding of federal contracting environments, business development processes, and program delivery models.

    • Support decision-making and executive actions through analysis and skilled business assessments.
    • Develop executive-level briefings, presentations, reports, and communications.
    • Monitor and track strategic initiatives, ensuring progress against milestones and objectives.
    • Identify risks, opportunities, and emerging trends affecting business performance.
  • Business Operations & Performance Management
    • Support recurring business reviews by collecting, analyzing, and presenting operational and financial data.
    • Drive dashboard development, performance metrics, and management reporting tools.
    • Analyze business performance, market conditions, pipeline health, and operational trends to provide actionable insights.
    • Support annual planning, forecasting, and business rhythm activities.
  • Executive Coordination & Leadership Support
    • Facilitate cross-functional coordination among operations, growth, finance, programs, contracts, and human resources.
    • Prepare agendas, materials, and follow-up actions for leadership meetings and business reviews.
    • Track action items and ensure accountability across leadership teams.
    • Represent the President in meetings, working groups, and special initiatives as assigned.
  • Special Projects & Continuous Improvement
    • Lead or support special projects focused on growth, operational excellence, process improvement, and organizational effectiveness.
    • Conduct market, competitor, and business model analyses to support strategic initiatives.
    • Develop recommendations for improving business processes, governance, and execution effectiveness.
    • Support integration and change management activities associated with organizational initiatives.
