The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for driving operational excellence, scalability, and innovation across RCN Capitalโ€™s nationwide private lending platform. As a leading direct lender specializing in real estate investment financing, specializing in fix-and-flip, bridge, construction, and long-term rental loans, the COO ensures that all aspects of loan operations, including technology and client experience, align to support continued growth and deliver industry-leading service to brokers, correspondent lenders, and real estate investors.

As a member of the executive team, this role serves as a cornerstone member of the leadership team, partnering closely with department leaders and subject matter experts, to translate organizational strategy into optimized performance across loan operations, legal and closing functions, and core systems, while advancing and strengthening RCNโ€™s position as a trusted, high-performing lending partner.

Responsibilities
  • Operational Strategy and Executive Partnership: As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, define, set and execute the operational vision across business functions within lending operations.
  • Design and implement scalable operating models to support loan volume, strong processes, and evolving business needs
  • Establish performance standards, and accountability structures within operations using KPI-driven insights aligned with business goals
  • Partner with executive leadership to provide strategic insights and drive cross-functional operational improvements
  • Leadership and Culture: Lead and develop high-performing operations teams, fostering accountability, collaboration, open communication, and continuous improvement
  • Align departmental leadership within operations with RCN Capitalโ€™s strategic priorities and growth objectives, focusing on scalability, innovation, and long-term growth
  • Promote a culture rooted in partnership, communication, and excellence
  • Process Improvement and Transformation: Lead operational initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and consistency
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual processes, clarify procedures, and improve quality throughout operations
  • Champion the implementation and adoption of new processes throughout operations, including gathering and interpreting feedback on results and impact for further improvement
  • Facilitate operational alignment through structured change management and strategic partnership
  • Ensure initiatives deliver measurable outcomes through defined performance metrics and continuous optimization
  • Performance Management and Analytics: Define, monitor, and continuously refine key performance metrics aligned with organizational goals within operations
  • Leverage data across operations to inform strategic decisions

Qualifications
  • Deep understanding of lending operations, process and procedure, risk, and regulatory environment
  • Ability to think strategically and execute effectively
  • A collaborative, transparent leadership style that builds trust and alignment
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in mortgage, banking or financial services
  • Strong background in operations, systems, and process improvement
  • Proven success leading operational transformation or large-scale change
  • Demonstrable experience in executing cross-functional strategies in a banking, lending or fintech environment
Education
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or related field
  • Masterโ€™s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or related field preferred
Work Schedule
  • Full time
  • Monday-Friday, 9:00AM to 6:00PM
  • Hybrid work model with first 90 days onsite and 2 days/week in office after in either:
  • South Windsor, CT
