Chief Operating Officer

Full time Senior Management Orlando, FL, US

Summary

Park Square Homes is on a trajectory toward becoming a top 35 national homebuilder by 2035. The COO will serve as the operational anchor of the company — owning execution across construction, land, sales, marketing, purchasing, and customer experience while functioning as a true strategic thought partner to the CEO.

This is not a caretaker role. The incoming COO will step into a business that runs on data, moves fast, and is actively integrating AI across its operations. The CEO has high expectations, values candor, and wants a leader who will respectfully push back, engage openly on strategy, and commit fully once a direction is set. If you need to be told what to do next, this is not the right seat.

What you'll do

Operational leadership & execution

  • Own day-to-day operational execution across construction, land, sales, purchasing, and customer experience — living in the numbers and driving accountability through structured reporting and defined KPIs.
  • Translate company growth goals into operational plans with clear owners, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
  • Build and enforce a culture of process discipline, daily rhythm, and high accountability without creating bureaucracy.
  • Maintain strong field presence — this role demands visibility across operations, not corner office management.

Strategic partnership

  • Serve as the CEO's strategic co-pilot — engaging openly, pushing back respectfully when warranted, and committing fully once a direction is set.
  • Lead and develop a broad team of senior direct reports across field and office functions with high expectations and genuine investment.
  • Contribute meaningfully to the company's long-term growth strategy, including geographic expansion planning and scalability initiatives targeting top 35 national builder status by 2035.
  • Drive land strategy and pipeline development in close coordination with the acquisitions and development teams — deep, hands‑on land experience is a non-negotiable for this role.
  • Manage banking and financing relationships in support of land and construction draws, lot banking structures, and development financing.
  • Support capital deployment decisions and operational scalability investments tied to the company's aggressive growth objectives.
What you’ll bring
  • Meaningful senior operational tenure in residential homebuilding — COO, Division President, VP Operations, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated track record in high‑volume production environments; experience at 1,000+ homes per year strongly preferred
  • Deep, hands‑on background in land acquisition, entitlement, and development — not borrowed familiarity
  • Finance and banking literacy tied to development: construction financing, lot banking, draw structures, and capital efficiency
  • Experience in privately held, entrepreneurial companies preferred; comfort in lean, fast‑moving, low‑bureaucracy environments is a genuine advantage
  • Data‑driven operator who starts the day with dashboards and ends it reviewing metrics
Leadership profile

The right person for this role is assertive and high-urgency, data-driven and report-reliant, disciplined in routine, willing to push back constructively, and equally willing to commit once a decision is made. They build people as well as processes, and they are as present in the field as they are behind a desk.

  • Results orientation
  • Strategic thinking
  • Analytical thinking
  • Integrity & professionalism
Working conditions

This is a field-present, high-visibility executive role based in Orlando, Florida. Regular travel between communities, divisional offices, and land sites is expected. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate. Finalists will complete a Culture Index survey as part of the evaluation process.
