This is a rare opportunity to lead the transformation of pediatric neuroscience across South Carolina and help build one of the premier pediatric neuroscience programs in the Southeast.
The current need/reasons for recruiting are:
  • MUSC is seeking a visionary Division Chief of Pediatric Neurology who can rebuild, recruit, innovate, and establish MUSC as the referral destination for children with neurologic disease throughout South Carolina and the Southeast.
  • The Department of Pediatrics, MUSC Childrenโ€™s Health, and the College of Medicine have made a substantial long-term commitment to growth, including approved strategic expansion to 13 pediatric neurologist faculty positions and six advanced practice provider positions.
  • The Division is undergoing strategic rebuilding following several anticipated and unanticipated faculty departures, creating an exceptional opportunity for the next Chief to recruit a new generation of faculty and shape the future of pediatric neuroscience across the state.
  • The next Chief will partner closely with Department, Hospital, and College leadership to expand clinical programs, strengthen education and research, improve statewide access, and advance a multidisciplinary pediatric neuroscience strategy.
  • MUSC is located in Charleston, South Carolina, a historic, vibrant, coastal city known for outstanding quality of life, nationally recognized culture, excellent schools, outdoor recreation, and family-friendly amenities.
Opportunity Thesis
Few opportunities combine the stability of an established childrenโ€™s hospital with the chance to build something transformative. The next Division Chief will have the support, resources, and institutional commitment needed to shape pediatric neuroscience across South Carolina for decades to come.
