Job description

Performs welding processes on production materials in accordance to required specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform minor to advanced welding processes on galvanized or raw steel per print specifications. Can operate flame cutting equipment.
  • Selects proper voltage, current, heat, gas, and feed settings for welding operations to be performed.
  • Moves material as needed using carts, hoists, and other handling means.
  • Prepares for necessary weld operations through proper machine and jig setups. Can perform first piece approval using appropriate quality control tools.
  • Assists in the training and direction of less experienced welding personnel in proper technique, methods, quality standards, and safety equipment.
  • Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner utilizing required safety equipment. Keeps work area neat and orderly. Reports unsafe conditions to supervisor.
  • Completes required production records and reports. Keeps accurate record of labor on daily time card. Evaluates and confirms daily time keep in the systems for accurate records.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:
  • High School Diploma, or GED, preferred.
  • Technical, or other related training, preferred.
