Eagle Crest Communities is the largest not-for-profit senior housing and care provider in Western Wisconsin, and we want YOU on our team! Controller / CFO In Training

This is a new position which will report to the Chief Financial Officer. The Controller will be hands-on working and overseeing a variety of areas, including; Payroll, Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Budgeting, Financial Reporting, Annual Audits, Fixed Assets, Information Systems, 401k Administration, Medicare/caid Cost Reporting, Sales Tax, IRS form 990, IRS form 5500, etc.


This is a full-time, exempt position. Office hours are Monday - Friday


Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience with monthly financial close and reporting (both internal and external)

Experience with coordination of external audits

Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements

Knowledgeable with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

Experience with budgeting process, forecasting and planning

Experience with payroll processing, tax reporting, wage and hour laws, and related software applications

401k plan experience (administration, audits, ERISA rules, etc.)

Healthcare-related experience with reimbursement, billing, cost reports, etc. preferred

Accounts Payable processing and 1099 reporting experience

Knowledge of bond financing, reporting and compliance

Advanced proficiency with MS Word and Excel

Demonstrated success in providing leadership and supervision of staff and projects

Effective written and oral communication skills

Ability to meet deadlines and make timely decisions

Effective in problem solving, and attention for details

Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical audiences

Able to handle sensitive and confidential information

Able to work effectively with all levels of management, staff and employees


Education & Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

CPA license preferred

Minimum 5 years work related experience

Previous public accounting experience is highly valued
