To thrive as a CFO in a bank, you need deep expertise in financial management, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning, usually backed by a finance or accounting degree and often a CPA, CFA, or MBA. Mastery of financial modeling tools, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and banking-specific compliance software is typically expected. These skills are vital for ensuring financial stability, regulatory adherence, and the bank's long-term growth.
