Req ID: 519245

We are a leading global software company dedicated to the world of computer aided design, 3D modeling and simulation— helping innovative global manufacturers design better products, faster! With the resources of a large company, and the energy of a software start-up, we have fun together while creating a world class software portfolio. Our culture encourages creativity, welcomes fresh thinking, and focuses on growth, so our people, our business, and our customers can achieve their full potential.

Chief Architect – Core Business Services

As Chief Architect for Core Business Services, you will define and drive the architectural vision and technical direction for a portfolio of foundational platform services, including licensing, business integrations, software delivery, and usage analytics. These shared services enable product teams to build on a common platform and deliver consistent customer experiences across the Siemens software portfolio. Working across multiple engineering teams responsible for a portfolio of product offerings, you will ensure a cohesive, scalable, secure, and maintainable architecture that aligns with the organization's business objectives and technology strategy.

You will work closely with engineering, product, and architecture leaders to shape the technical evolution of Core Business Services, balancing long-term architectural vision with the practical needs of product delivery while contributing to the evolution of the broader platform.

Your Impact & Key Responsibilities
  • Define and communicate the architectural vision, technical direction, and architectural roadmap for Core Business Services.

  • Drive architectural consistency across engineering teams by defining and governing architectural principles, standards, reference architectures, and technology guidelines in collaboration with peer architects, ensuring alignment across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.

  • Lead the architecture of strategic platform capabilities, APIs, and shared services that support multiple product offerings, with a focus on scalability, security, reliability, interoperability, and maintainability.

  • Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews, cross-team initiatives, mentoring, and guidance for architects, principal engineers, and senior technical leaders.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and architectural approaches to drive innovation while ensuring long-term sustainability and operational excellence.

  • Drive platform modernization by reducing technical debt and promoting the adoption of shared platform services, reusable components, and common architectural patterns.

  • Partner with engineering and product leadership to align architectural decisions with customer needs, product strategy, and business objectives.

  • Represent Core Business Services in cross-organizational architecture forums, contributing to the evolution of the broader platform architecture and shared technology standards.

  • Engage with senior stakeholders, strategic customers, and internal and external technology partners to communicate architectural direction, gather feedback, and represent the interests of Core Business Services as needed.

What We're Looking For
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture, including designing and delivering large-scale enterprise software systems.

  • Proven experience defining, leading, and evolving architecture for complex software platforms across multiple engineering teams and product offerings.

  • Deep expertise in cloud-native and hybrid architectures, distributed systems, APIs, security, and platform engineering.

  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to balance long-term architectural direction with pragmatic delivery and evolving business priorities.

  • Demonstrated ability to make pragmatic architectural decisions that balance technical excellence, business priorities, delivery timelines, and long-term platform evolution.

  • Practical experience in one or more enterprise platform domains, such as software licensing, business systems integration, usage analytics, or software delivery.

  • Understanding of business and operating models, financial planning, cost-benefit analysis, budgeting, and risk management.

  • Experience designing reusable platform capabilities, shared services and APIs for large-scale distributed systems.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence technical and business audiences.

  • Proven ability to mentor architects and senior engineers, fostering technical excellence and a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
