Job description

We are currently looking for a Full Time Computed Tomography Technologist to join our X-Ray and Computed Tomography team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center.
Summary:
Provides CT and CT angiography (CTA) examinations to all ages of patients and contributes to the efficient operation of the department, ensuring the quality and continuity of patient care.
Responsibilities:
* Performs peripheral and visceral/abdominal systems, extremities, CT angiography, including spine, head and neck studies
* Explains exams to patients and/or caregiver so that patients/caregiver understands what is to be done as well as what hazards, if any, are possible
* Properly identifies patient images, confirms patient identity by verbally confirming patient name and birth date
* Follows imaging studies through PACS network to ensure proper delivery of images to interpreting providers
* Maintains records and files for exams performed on patients, this includes the editing of patient exams
* Practices radiation safety in order to reduce exposure to patients, staff and self and utilizes lead aprons, lead gloves, lead shields, lead lined walls and collimation
* Prepares contrast materials that are used in CT/angiography and other exams and is trained to insert IV needles for administration of contrast material when necessary
* Prioritizes scheduled patients as well as the ability to accommodate the emergency patient who may need immediate emergency surgery, etc.
* Informs radiologists or referring physicians of examination results and notifies them of scans requiring their immediate attention
* Confers with radiologists or referring physicians to determine requirement of non-standard exams and determines technical factors, positioning, number and thickness of scans, etc.
* May also cover in general X-Ray as needed
* Stocks and inventories supplies and related materials
* Provides first class customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to inquiries, compliments, and/or complaints with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency
* Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities
* Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types
