Job Type: Full-Time

Compensation Range: $70,000 - $75,000 Annually

What You Will Be Doing

Under the guidance of the Technical Support Manager, this role will offer comprehensive oversight of radio networks including studio, satellite uplink, and transmitter sites.  This position plays a crucial role in ensuring up time of networks and in architecting and building networks and paths as needed.  This role will carry ultimate responsibility for supporting all network cabling, switches, routers, etc. This role will configure and maintain network functionality including routing, VLANs, and QoS.

Critical to this role is a heart to serve and support, while also being an efficient multitasker with excellent communication skills and a keen attention to detail. This role requires being flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, deadlines, and requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions

  • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software to ensure reliable and secure connectivity.
  • Monitor and update network equipment as needed to support optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve network issues by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Provide 24/7 technical support, when necessary, and troubleshoot assistance to end users and other departments.
  • Create and maintain accurate network documentation, including network maps and system configurations.
  • Develop and enforce policies, standards, and procedures related to network operations.
  • Prepare user-friendly guides and walkthroughs for common networking tasks and troubleshooting steps.
  • Collaborate with Production, Operations, and other departments to plan for network improvements and growth that support organizational goals.
  • Contribute research and technical recommendations to leadership based on industry best practices and hands-on experience.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five years of experience in a related field.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of network administration.
  • Authorized to work in the US legally without sponsorship.

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in a media or broadcasting environment.
  • Experience in Non-Profit Ministry
  • Familiarity with Cisco, Netgear, and Juniper managed switches as well as Peplink routers.
  • CCNP, CCDE, or similar certifications.

This is a full-time position. The work is regularly performed onsite from our downtown Chicago location. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Occasional travel is expected for this position.
