Job description

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

We are looking for a skilled Construction Administrator to provide day-to-day oversight of construction activities for the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center (VAMC), Chicago, IL Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) Infrastructure Upgrade project. You will ensure contractor compliance with quality, schedule, and safety requirements, and assist in resolving construction issues.

Project duration: one year plus two option years.

Salary: $100k - $110k/year (range varies depending on experience and qualifications).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor on-site construction activities and ensure conformance with project plans and specifications.
  • Assist in quality assurance, safety management, and contract compliance oversight.
  • Review and manage submittals, daily logs, RFIs, and change order proposals.
  • Identify deficiencies or nonconformance and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Track project progress against baseline schedules and provide updates to the COR.
  • Participate in weekly progress meetings and maintain thorough documentation of inspections.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to achieve project objectives.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

  • Degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of construction administration experience on healthcare or complex institutional projects.
  • Knowledge of construction practices, scheduling, quality assurance, cost control, and safety standards.
  • Experience monitoring general and subcontractor performance.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and software skills.
