Job description

Position: Lockbox Specialist (Image Scanning)

Contract Assignment: ASAP Start until 8/30/2027

Location: Chicago, IL (Fully Onsite)

Pay Range: $18.31/HR, Paid Weekly

Schedule: 3rd Shift, Friday Night – Tuesday Night, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM

Overtime may be required based on business needs.

 

 

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Operations Processing Specialist to support domestic and international consumer, commercial, and wholesale banking operations. This senior-level position processes complex transactions, maintains operational and financial controls, and ensures accurate, efficient service for internal business partners and external clients.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment. This individual may also serve as a subject-matter expert and resource for team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine daily maintenance on Opex scanning equipment.
  • Scan and image customer and client documents received through U.S. mail, overnight mail, and local courier services.
  • Extract documents and identify processing exceptions.
  • Process cash, credit card payments, foreign items, and other banking transactions.
  • Identify equipment error messages, troubleshoot basic issues, and escalate concerns when necessary.
  • Operate high-speed scanning and imaging equipment.
  • Review and process various transaction and document types, including:
    • Nested transactions and self-mailers
    • Express envelopes
    • Correspondence-only items
    • High-volume transactions
  • Complete document retention, box proration, and recordkeeping procedures accurately.
  • Perform reconciliation, reporting, statement rendering, MICR/image processing, lockbox, remittance, ATM deposit, and other operational support functions as assigned.
  • Maintain internal operational and financial controls in accordance with bank standards.
  • Provide quality and efficient support to internal business partners and external clients.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for peers and potentially act in a lead capacity.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to process transactions according to documented procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Receptive to coaching and feedback.
  • Comfortable working in a demanding, continuous-production environment.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods.
  • Experience operating high-speed scanning or document-imaging equipment is preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels, such as from office equipment.
  • The ability to lift up to 30lbs.
  • Use of computers and technology.
